Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; MA diploma or national certification.
• Graduation from an accredited MA program or equivalent military healthcare experience.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with care team to optimize clinical outcomes.
• Communicates with staff, patients and providers to coordinate care.
• Performs pre-visit planning and documents results.
• Rooms patients and records vital signs, BMI, and medications.
• Performs EKG, spirometry, and point-of-care testing as competency allows.
• Dismisses patients, schedules follow-ups and provides education.
