Job summary

The City of Columbia is seeking a maintenance worker to perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in maintaining City parking facilities. The role operates under close supervision and follows set procedures. Heavy physical work includes lifting and walking, with exposure to varying weather and noise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of relevant prior experience.
• Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and general facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of City parking facilities.
• Perform general building maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out masonry, welding, painting and landscape maintenance as needed.
• Transport equipment to and from work sites as directed.
• Inspect facilities for security and safety and address hazards.
