Job summary

Mercy House is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support the maintenance team, handle general repairs, and ensure facility safety and compliance. You will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to implement preventative maintenance and address a wide range of building systems.

The role requires basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related skills, plus intermediate Word/Excel data entry. You will assist with bidding, vendor management, and maintaining logs and inventories.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience accepted.
• Basic carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and sprinkler repairs.
• Intermediate computer literacy with Word and Excel and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Work with Supervisor to create and implement preventative maintenance.
• Conduct general inspections of internal/external systems including fire protection and detectors.
• Assist with bidding and oversight of subcontractors or perform work as needed.
• Perform maintenance tasks: electrical/plumbing/carpentry/drywall/HVAC repairs and more.
• Close out work orders and update the work order log upon completion.
• Maintain supplies, inventory and assist with admin tasks.
