Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is seeking a Food Operations Director to lead the food program across five clubs and three early childhood sites. Based at the Brookings corporate office, you will supervise kitchen staff, ensure meals meet USDA CACFP standards, and manage food-related grants.

You will oversee procurement, safety, and compliance, travel between sites, and partner with program staff to make nutrition engaging for youth while maintaining records and training staff in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years in food service or kitchen management.
• At least 1 year supervising staff.
• ServSafe Manager certification or ability to earn within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license and driving record meeting insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff at all sites, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Build a supportive team culture aligned with the mission.
• Provide temporary kitchen coverage during vacancies while directing food service operations.
• Plan monthly menus meeting USDA and CACFP meal pattern requirements.
• Coordinate meal modifications for allergies or dietary needs.
• Manage food purchasing, inventory, deliveries, and storage across sites.
• Conduct site visits and kitchen audits for cleanliness and safety.
• Maintain records including menus, production records, and meal counts.
• Lead tracking and reporting for food-related grants.
