Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains seeks a Food Operations Director to lead our food program across five clubs and three early childhood Clubhouses. You will supervise kitchen staff, ensure nutritious meals, and manage grants, while partnering with program teams to make nutrition engaging for youth.

Responsibilities include menu planning, health and safety compliance, staff development, and travel between sites in South Dakota. Strong leadership and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Manager certification or ability to earn within 90 days.
• Minimum 2 years in food service or related operations; 1 year supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of kitchen staff across sites; hire, train, schedule, coach, and discipline as needed.
• Plan monthly menus meeting USDA/CACFP guidelines; accommodate dietary needs.
• Oversee food purchasing, inventory, deliveries, and storage; conduct site visits and kitchen audits.
• Lead tracking and reporting for food-related grants; partner with program staff on nutrition activities.
• Ensure adherence to BGCA child safety policies and required trainings; maintain records.
