Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club Of the Northern Plains in Brookings, SD and/or Flandreau, SD seeks a Cook to oversee the kitchen and café, manage food orders, prepare meals, serve youth, and ensure ongoing cleanliness and health compliance.

You will support meal service for traditional snack and supper, help with inventory and deliveries, complete Food Safe training, and assist at alternate sites and events while upholding Club values and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety and handling.
• Willingness to work Mon-Fri during school year and summer.
• Ability to work with youth in a club setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Traditional Club Snack and Supper; assist ECEC as needed.
• Assist Kitchen Manager with weekly inventory and food deliveries.
• Unload pallets and food orders.
• Complete Food Safe training; maintain kitchen standards.
• Keep kitchen and café clean and sanitized, including dishes.
• Assist with program development for Café and creating nutritional menus.
• Support Club events and locations as needed.
