Job summary

Guntersville City Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher assigned to an individual school to deliver engaging instruction and support student achievement.

The role requires a valid Alabama teaching certificate, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to use technology to enhance planning, instruction, and assessment. The position follows a 187-day contract with a salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the grade level, subject area(s) assigned.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under Alabama laws.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development.
• Utilizes knowledge of prescribed curriculum and best instructional practices to address student learning styles.
• Uses technology to plan and provide instruction and to facilitate student learning.
• Models appropriate and innovative use of technology for students.
• Facilitates and monitors the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Provides modifications for students with special needs, including exceptional education students and English learners.
• Selects, develops, modifies and adapts materials and resources to support learning objectives.
• Establishes routines and uses appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Creates a learning climate that is challenging.
• Participates in administration of state and/or standardized testing as assigned.
• Uses ongoing assessment to monitor student progress and inform planning.
• Communicates high learning expectations and real-world outcomes.
• Maintains confidentiality as required.
