Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama State Professional Educators Certificate in special education.
• Meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and implement IEPs.
• Ability to use technology for instruction and data reporting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with student needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement educational program for special needs students using IEPs.
• Participate in developing and implementing IEPs as part of the team.
• Schedule IEP meetings and monitor student progress.
• Use varied instructional strategies and adapt materials as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff.
• Maintain an organized, safe learning environment and manage time effectively.
