Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, or NPs with clinical and clerical duties across multiple sites in Connecticut. You will help manage patient flow, prepare examination rooms, document vitals and medications in the EHR, and assist with referrals and appointments in the Practice Management System.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room, escorts patient, and cleans room after exams.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visits.
• Documents vital signs and medications in EHR accurately.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in the PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and/or consult orders in a timely manner.
• Adheres to safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of waste.
