Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes is seeking a Service Manager POD in Fitchburg, WI. You will lead and assist a maintenance team across communities, overseeing daily service requests and advanced repairs including electrical, plumbing, boilers, and HVAC systems.

You’ll coordinate unit turns, preventive maintenance, and property improvements to uphold Weidner quality standards. The role requires 3+ years of maintenance experience, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience and hands-on skills.
• Experience leading work crews and supervising staff.
• Strong technical training and ability to develop others.
• High mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and pool maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
• Proficiency with Windows/MS Office; familiarity with Yardi/Paycom platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist maintenance teams across communities, ensuring timely service requests.
• Oversee advanced repairs including electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC, and appliances.
• Support unit turns with make-ready tasks such as painting, drywall, and plumbing.
• Follow and enforce scheduled preventive maintenance and property improvement projects.
• Conduct regular property inspections and take corrective action to meet quality standards.
• Manage work orders, coordinate with staff and vendors, and maintain documentation.
• Provide hands-on leadership and staff development to strengthen technical capability.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety across common areas and grounds.
