Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitorial Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple customer locations in the Baton Rouge area. This hands-on leadership role involves managing teams, visiting sites, solving issues, and ensuring consistent service quality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least two years of management experience in a service-related field, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry.
• Business level oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service skills; active listening skills.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations and employees across multiple customer locations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members.
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards are being met.
• Build relationships with customers and quickly resolve service concerns.
• Manage employee schedules and staffing while maintaining established labor budgets.
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure required site visits are completed.
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training.
• Review employee performance and create development or improvement plans as needed.
• Identify opportunities for additional services within assigned customer accounts.
• Maintain required operational documentation, including time sheets, training records, work orders and incident reports.
