Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitorial Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple customer locations in the Indianapolis area. This hands-on leadership role requires visiting sites, coordinating janitorial teams, and maintaining quality standards to deliver exceptional service.

The position emphasizes staff management, scheduling, and responsive customer relations. A background in janitorial services and strong English communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Effective oral and written English communication.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations and employees across multiple customer locations
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards are being met
• Build relationships with customers and quickly resolve service concerns
• Manage employee schedules and staffing while maintaining established labor budgets
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure required site visits are completed
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training
• Review employee performance and create development or improvement plans as needed
• Identify opportunities for additional services within assigned customer accounts
• Maintain required operational documentation, including time sheets, training records, work orders, incident reports and supply/equipment order
