Job summary

RBD Packaging in Southern California and Western Tennessee is seeking an Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep manufacturing and packaging operations running safely and efficiently. This full-time role involves hands-on installations, inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery across sites, with travel to support projects and critical maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Experience with packaging equipment such as printing presses, cutters, slitters and rewinders is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Experience with calibration, adjustments, and line changeovers in production.
• Solid knowledge of safety practices including lockout/tagout and machine guarding.
• Basic computer skills to read docs, complete electronic work orders, and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Lead installation and upgrades of machinery and production lines with testing.
• Analyze plans for new equipment, map floor space and utilities for safe installation.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical problems and manage parts inventory.
• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, and other handling equipment safely.
• Document maintenance activities and use CMMS/ERP systems to track status.
• Coordinate with production to schedule maintenance with minimal downtime.
