Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking a Float Pool Medical Assistant to support multiple care settings across NCPS offices in Dade and Broward counties. This role travels between sites, providing medical and administrative support under physician direction and adapting to varied workflows.

The position requires diverse clinical skills, patient care coordination, and the ability to maintain accurate records, schedule follow-ups, and assist with immunizations and procedures as directed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
• 1-2 years of physician office experience preferred.
• 1-2 years coordinating clinical care for patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, routes calls, takes, and relays accurate messages.
• Prepares and administers medications to patients as directed by provider.
• Prepares and administers immunizations as directed by provider.
• Communicates all significant changes in patient conditions to clinicians.
• Maintains medical records and charting for appointments.
• Gathers data for reports and coordinates communication with departments.
• Maintains billing and processes referrals and deposits.
• Operates and maintains equipment and inventories supplies.
• Performs vital signs and patient/family education.
• Assists physicians with procedures and patient transport.
• Schedules appointments and verifies authorizations.
• Documents lab, x-ray orders and follows up as required.
