Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Float Pool Medical Assistant to travel across NCPS offices in main campus and multi-specialty centers throughout Dade and Broward counties. You will provide comprehensive clinical support under physician direction and perform diverse administrative tasks to ensure high-quality care across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have MA certification (or appropriate Florida licensure) and 3–5 years of MA experience, with bilingual English/Spanish

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 3 years of Medical Assistant experience with active MA certification, or 5 years with one of the required licenses/certifications.
• American Heart Association BLS - active and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, routes calls, takes and relays messages.
• Prepares and administers medications to patients as directed by provider.
• Prepares and administers immunizations to patients as directed by provider.
• Maintains/obtains documentation for medical records and charts.
• Schedules appointments and maintains referrals and authorizations.
• Performs vital signs and basic clinical procedures as directed.
• Assists physicians with procedures and patient transport; collects specimens for lab.
• Supports front office and administrative functions, including check-in/check-out.
