Job summary

Friends LA is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of multiple organizational sites, including partner locations. You will ensure spaces are safe, welcoming, and aligned with child protection standards, while coordinating with program and operations leadership across sites.

This multi-site role requires traveling between standalone and partner sites, managing vendors, implementing preventive maintenance, and driving efficient facility

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of facilities, property management, or related experience.
• Experience managing vendors and contractors.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working across multiple sites or locations preferred.
• Familiarity with safety and compliance requirements.
• Experience in nonprofit, school, or community-based settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities operations across all sites, ensuring safe, clean, and functional environments.
• Coordinate and respond to maintenance requests in a timely and organized manner.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
• Conduct regular site walkthroughs to address facility needs.
• Manage relationships with external vendors (janitorial, HVAC, repairs, security).
• Oversee vendor performance and cost-effective decisions.
• Coordinate with partner facilities teams to resolve issues.
• Develop systems for tracking maintenance requests and facility issues.
• Ensure spaces meet safety standards and child protection policies.
