St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semiskilled maintenance across SVDP properties in the Greater Cincinnati area.

You will handle repairs, preventative tasks, and documentation to ensure safe, welcoming environments for neighbors and staff. The role requires hands-on building trades experience, strong ownership, and the ability to work independently, including after-hours response when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building trades, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and ability to regularly drive between locations.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Familiarity with tools, materials, and equipment used in building maintenance and repair.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Intermediate computer skills for tracking work orders, including accurate documentation and scheduling.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time across priorities.
• Highly self-motivated with ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
• Demonstrated initiative, prioritization, and task completion without constant direction.
• Strong sense of pride in maintaining facilities and delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Good interpersonal communication and customer-service mindset focused on internal customers.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and after-hours needs when required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, building codes, and emergency procedures.
• OSHA certification, CPR/First Aid training, or related safety credentials are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance and repairs to interior and exterior building systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor HVAC tasks.
• Assess issues, determine repair solutions, and address root causes to prevent repeats.
• Respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests at multiple SVDP facilities.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and identify safety or operational concerns.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely, cost-effective project completion.
• Monitor external work to meet specs, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Maintain organized records of work orders, inspections, and materials usage.
• Transport maintenance materials and equipment between locations.
• Move, assemble, and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report hazards or risks.
