Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in California seeks a Multi-Site Environmental Manager (MSEM) to support environmental compliance across Southern California Last Mile Delivery Stations. This hands-on role spends time in yards and on floors conducting inspections, audits, and waste classification, with up to 50% travel.

You will lead regulatory interactions, develop strategic programs, and ensure adherence to Amazon standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of program or project management experience
• 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field of study

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee local, state, and federal environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Develop strategic programs by integrating with engineering, construction, and operations. Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Lead regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Drive environmental metrics
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
• Submit time-critical reports to various governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions
• Up to 50% travel
