Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Several years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the air and ground EMS industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to aviation and EMS.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Certifications in environmental management (e.g., CEM, CHMM) are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
  • Experience with CERS and SMARTS CA web-based solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations applicable to the air and ground ambulance industry.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Serve as primary contact for environmental regulatory agencies and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Environmental Audits: Conduct audits, identify improvements, and implement corrective actions with operations leadership.
  • Waste Management: Develop and oversee waste management programs, including hazardous waste disposal.
  • Spill Response Planning: Develop and maintain spill response plans for air and ground operations.
  • Environmental Training: Provide training on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Environmental Risk Assessments: Coordinate impact assessments for projects or changes, mitigate risks.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports for agencies and management, engage legal for Notices of Violation when needed.
  • Travel: Position requires some travel within the United States (up to 50%).
