Job summary

Bartel Executive Search is seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory reporting and risk mitigation across a large multi-state real estate portfolio. The role emphasizes practical, business-minded solutions in collaboration with regulators, internal teams, and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of EPA/state regulations, strong coordination skills, and the ability to travel ~20% to visit sites and regulators, while maintaining meticulous records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• 3–7+ years of environmental compliance experience across multi-site environments.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and state/local environmental regulations.
• Experience coordinating with regulators, consultants, and contractors.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.
• Certifications: CSP, REM, CHMM, SPCC, SWPPP.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance and risk assessments across multi-site operations.
• Develop practical mitigation strategies and drive issue resolution.
• Serve as primary contact for environmental reporting and tracking.
• Partner with site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with external consultants and remediation contractors.
• Maintain organized environmental records and reporting documentation.
• Standardize compliance processes across all sites for consistency.
