Job summary

Ameriscan Designs Inc. seeks a Director of Engineering to lead engineering and drafting across two Chicagoland facilities, standardizing CAD/CAM workflows and ensuring precision in high-volume projects.

You will unify engineering practices, mentor regional and offshore teams, and drive strategic initiatives to improve throughput and manufacturability from shop drawings to installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four-year college or university; minimum 5 years related training.
• Familiarity with scheduling resources based on production needs and coordination with other departments.
• Knowledge of ERP/CAD/CAM tools and standard software suites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering, drafting and programming across two facilities to optimize resources.
• Mentor and develop regional and offshore engineering teams to ensure high performance.
• Implement SOPs to harmonize practices and improve output quality across sites.
• Manage engineering KPIs for submittal timelines, shop drawing accuracy, and throughput.
• Bridge sales, engineering and manufacturing to troubleshoot fabrication constraints and speed throughput.
