Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support clinic operations across system sites. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, vaccines, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordination of patient care under supervision.

Day shift with rotating weekends; duties include rooming patients, administering medications, scheduling, insurance verification, and assisting physicians. Travel between clinic locations may be necessary; strong communication and attention to detail are

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license; travel between clinic locations may be necessary.
• Certification or registration with AAMA/AMT/NHA/NCCT or MN PN license is required.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, policies and medical ethics.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills including Word.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs and documentation.
• Administer and document medications and vaccinations.
• Process medication refill requests and coordination of care.
• Reception/clerical tasks: appointments, insurance verification, referrals, and supplies.
• Handle vaccine storage and administration per CDC/MDH schedules.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs and waived lab testing.
• Assist Physicians/PA/CNP with patient care and referrals.
• Support quality initiatives and participate in committees.
• Mentor students, externs, and new staff.
