Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support clinic operations under the supervision of the clinic Manager. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, vaccines and lab procedures, and the ability to work with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, administering medications, handling referrals, and coordinating diagnostics. The candidate should have BLS, and either MN LPN license or AAMA/ARMA certification, with strong

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Certification or registration from AAMA/ARMA or possession of Minnesota practical nursing license.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, policies, procedures and medical ethics.
• Excellent communication skills across disciplines and at various levels.
• Attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills.
• Basic computer skills including Word.

Responsibilities

• Rooming of clients including vital signs and documentation in medical records.
• Administration and documentation of oral and injectable medications and vaccinations.
• Process and route medication refill requests.
• Reception/clerical tasks: scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and supply restocking.
• Determine vaccines based on past records and CDC/MDH schedules.
• Perform and document phlebotomy, EKGs and waived labs.
• Assist providers with patient care and coordinate diagnostic testing.
• Data collection for quality initiatives and committee participation.
• Mentor_students, externs and new staff.
