Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking a Clinical Assistant to provide multi-skilled support across clinics under the supervision of the clinic Manager. The role includes rooming patients, measuring vitals and documenting nurse visits, and assisting with medication administration and vaccine duties.

The candidate will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and waive lab testing, while coordinating tests and referrals with physicians. Travel between clinic locations may be necessary.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver's license; travel between clinics possible.
• CMA/ARMA certification or MN LPN license.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, policies and ethics.
• Excellent communication across disciplines.
• Attention to detail, organization and prioritization.
• Basic computer skills including Word.

Responsibilities

• Room clients: take vitals, document nurse visits and refill encounters.
• Administer and document oral and injectable meds and vaccines.
• Prepare and route medication refill requests.
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, check in for appointments, coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, restock supplies, document calls.
• Store and administer vaccines per CDC/MDH schedules.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs and waived lab testing.
• Assist providers with patient care and referrals.
• Data collection for quality initiatives.
• Serve on committees and train students/new staff.
