Job summary

Stocker Auto in the United States is seeking an experienced Office Manager/Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and daily office operations across multiple dealership locations. This hands-on leadership role manages office and accounting teams, ensures internal controls, and partners with ownership to support profitability.

Qualifications

• Must have accounting and office management experience in a franchised automotive dealership or similar environment.
• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, financial statement prep and analysis, cash management, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with dealership DMS platforms such as CDK Global or Reynolds & Reynolds, plus Excel and document management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and banking activity including cash receipts, card payments, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review the Daily Operating Control (DOC) and monitor sales, gross profit, cash, and operating metrics.
• Manage cash flow, floorplan activity, and intercompany reconciliations across locations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close; prepare financial statements and manufacturer reporting within deadlines.
• Maintain internal controls across sales, service, parts, and F&I; investigate discrepancies and correct actions.
• Oversee AP/AR, contracts in transit, deal posting, titling, DMV remittances, and supporting docs.
• Audit vehicle inventory and coordinate warranty submissions, receivables, and parts inventory accuracy.
• Ensure accounting processes meet GAAP, manufacturer requirements, and dealership policies.
• Hire, train, supervise and develop office and accounting staff; prioritize workloads and cross-train.
• Improve workflows, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting customer service and leadership reporting.
