Job summary

KELO Television is seeking a Digital Producer to lead the shift from a broadcast-focused newsroom to a multi-platform operation. You will train staff in new methods and tactics while creating/editing original content beyond what airs on TV.

You will shape content strategy, oversee social media, and ensure accuracy and brand consistency across platforms. This role shoots, edits, and produces for both on-air and digital channels.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples preferred.
• Proficiency in AP style, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and basic HTML preferred.
• CSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills are a plus.
• Maintain positive work environment through active team participation with colleagues in all departments.
• Responds positively to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategy for station content and multi-platform reach.
• Uses social media platforms to build brand recognition and attract viewers.
• Reviews copy for grammar and punctuation per editorial style guidelines.
• Gathers information through research, interviews, and events to ensure accuracy.
• Shoots and edits content for on-air and digital production.
• Produces reports for all platforms and ensures journalistic integrity.
• Plans digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials.
• Writes stories for web and other digital platforms.
