Job summary

NBC Connecticut is looking for a versatile and highly motivated editor to create content for the multiple platforms we program. This person will be responsible for editing video content produced for digital and linear newscasts, working closely with broadcast reporters and producers and for using all social, multimedia and digital tools to grow our audience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of digital post-production experience; editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• 1+ year working in a newsroom environment.
• Experience with digital workflows, file-based delivery.
• Experience with frame rates, aspect ratios, and resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Edit content for linear newscasts and prepare video content and stories for newscasts, as well as edit digital videos for all platforms.
• Partner closely with the EP to ensure alignment across all platforms.
• Demonstrate knowledge of editing techniques and trends for individual social platforms.
• Identify and execute priorities for deliverables during a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Participate in planning and execution of long-form editing, including special projects for both linear and social assigned.
• Communicate with show producers, management, assignment desk and reporters on delivering the best video
• Coordinate editing duties with photographers and other editors
• Work with other journalists on enterprising stories and train other editors on editing techniques
• Understand and practice ethical journalism and meet NBC news standards
