Job summary

SGS Consulting in Boston is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to manage Linux, Windows, and macOS devices across a mid-size staff. You will implement automation via Ansible, manage AD/LDAP permissions, and contribute to configuration management frameworks.

Responsibilities include storage and backup administration, DR testing, and evaluating new hardware/software to support higher research compute capacity and network performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Eligible to obtain SECRET DoD clearance; willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• 5+ years of Linux/Windows system administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux, Windows, and macOS devices.
• Provide troubleshooting to 50 staff; manage user accounts and permissions via AD/LDAP.
• Design and maintain automation scripts; contribute to Ansible/Puppet configs.
• Administer data storage, backups, and disaster recovery; test restorations.
• Evaluate new hardware/software and make purchase recommendations.
• Perform efforts to enhance research compute capacity, storage scalability, and network performance.
