Job Description

Per Diem Multi-Modality Imaging Tech

Essential Job Functions

• Must be licensed in at least two modalities: Cat Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or PET/CT.
• Performs diagnostic examinations, understanding anatomical positioning, modality protocols, and equipment to produce optimal results.
• Manages delivery of care and patient safety responsibly.
• Ensures proper identification of patient demographics.
• Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders.
• Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms and adheres to infection control standards.
• Prioritizes and organizes work, adjusting based on changing situations.
• Knows the location of emergency equipment and medications for contrast reactions and emergencies.
• Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follows Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
• Replenishes supplies as needed.
• Conducts routine quality control checks on equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Prepares and assists with contrast material administration (IV and/or oral).

General Job Functions

• Knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
• Documents patient history and pertinent information.
• Assesses patient risks or contraindications to IV contrast.
• Attends departmental meetings.

Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements

• 1-3 years preferred experience.
• Licensed by NJ State DEP.
• Graduated from an accredited Radiography program.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
• BLS certification required; IV certification preferred.
• Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
• Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records, RIS, and PACS systems.
