Position Summary

The Multi Modality Technologist works under the supervision of the Radiology Sr. Tech/Technical Manager, or designee, and is responsible for performing a combination of imaging modalities including Interventional Radiology, MRI, X-Ray, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and OR C-Arm guided procedures (based on their specialties). The role supports operational needs and logistics, maintaining quality and throughput to achieve high clinical quality and patient care. The Technologist is required to work in at least two advanced modalities 50% of the time.

Full Time - WPH CAMS - CT

Evening: Tue-Fri 11a-7p, Sat 8a-4p

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, observing protocol requirements, documentation, and screenings.
  • Produce high-quality images, review scans for quality and completeness.
  • Assist physicians during biopsy procedures as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations depending on specialty area (IR and X-Ray for OR support).
  • Perform quality assurance, calibrations, and QA/QC testing as required by regulations.
  • Adapt and work effectively during emergent procedures or situations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and failed QC to supervisor/manager.
  • Perform contrast injections as required.
  • Handle routine office duties, including answering phones, reviewing reports, documenting patient information, and utilizing EMR and PACS systems.
  • Notify staff upon exam completion for timely case processing.
  • May serve as instructor or preceptor.
  • Communicate professionally with patients and families, addressing questions or concerns.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Ensure medical and surgical supplies are properly ordered, stocked, and not expired.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited allied health education or radiography program.
  • NYS DOH license required.
  • NYS Contrast Media Injection license required.
  • Advanced ARRT certification in CT, IR, MRI, MRSO, ARDMS, or NMTCB required.
  • Maintain 24 ECE credits over two years for continuing education.
  • BLS certification through AHA required or completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Radiation dose pledge for Image Wisely/Image Gently required during orientation or before end of probation.
