Job summary

The role requires ARRT certification (R) with advanced CT/MRI/Mammography eligibility, and completion of a VA-recognized 24-month radiologic technology program. The incumbent will operate CT scanners, perform image reconstructions, ensure patient safety, and document procedures in PACS.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S.
• English proficiency: proficient in speaking and writing English
• ARRT Radiography certification (R) required
• Advanced ARRT cert for CT/MRI/Mammography duties
• Education: 24+ months post-high school radiologic technology program (certificate/associate)
• Transcript copy required with application
• Ability to balance patient and staff needs during complex scans
• Knowledge of infection control, safety, and aseptic technique
• Experience: at least 1 year in related radiologic work
• On-the-job training available for advanced certifications when needed

Responsibilities

• Performs CT and diagnostic X-ray studies in the department
• Operates CT scanners, fluoroscopic units, and related radiology equipment
• Performs reconstructions (MPR, 3D) and prepares images for radiologist review
• Explains examinations and contrast materials to patients
• Monitors patient status and responds to adverse reactions as needed
• Maintains radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Performs QC procedures and uses PACS for image acquisition, storage, and review
• Maintains sterile technique and proper attire and hygiene in the department
• Adheres to infection control policies and safety procedures
• Typical work schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm
