Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Machinist for our Indianapolis facility. You will set up and operate turning centers, machining centers, and manual equipment, ensuring quality inspections and adherence to safety policies.

A potential flexible schedule may be offered after onboarding and performance milestones. The role requires strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs.
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Responsibilities

• Performing accurate inspections on product.
• Running multiple pieces of equipment at the same time.
• Providing assistance to other employees when needed.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations.
