Job summary

Major Tool & Machine (MTM) is seeking a CNC Machinist for a weekend day shift in Indianapolis, IN. The role features three 12‑hour Friday–Sunday shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 40 hours paid per week (36 hours worked).

Qualifications

Two years of trade school or apprenticeship
Three to five years CNC machining experience
General machining knowledge, shop math, precision measuring tools, blueprint reading and GD&T
Part and tool probing
Experience with high speed machining (preferred)
Siemens 840D Control experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals or parts to determine dimensions and tolerances
Select, align and secure work holding; improvise setups using tooling
Monitor and adjust speed, feed, depth or angle of cut
Observe machine operation to predict malfunctions and adjust controls
Verify machined details meet specs using precision instruments and perform first piece inspection
Maintain cleanliness of machine and work area
