Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an entry-level machinist on the shop floor in Indiana. You will operate a variety of machines to remove metal from castings or raw materials to meet customer specifications.

Follow process docs, perform quality checks with gauges, and cooperate with the team to hit safety, quality and production goals on rotating shifts. Some machining experience is welcome; training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass related testing.
• Six months work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machines to remove metal from castings or raw materials to meet specifications.
• Follow process documentation to perform quality checks using gauges and other measuring devices; manage tool changes and monitor tool usage.
• Work as part of a team to operate and manage machining, aiming for safety, quality and production goals.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform routine maintenance tasks as defined.
• Handle rework, scrap, and nonconforming materials and participate in process improvements.
