Job summary

BBSI is seeking a Staff Accountant in California to handle general accounting across multiple corporate locations, including GL, AP/AR, and inventory, supporting a growing retail tire and automotive service group with 50+ years of local service.

The role collaborates with Controller and CFO to ensure accurate data, timely close, and scalable controls, requiring strong detail orientation and cross-functional collaboration across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with direct AP and AR responsibility.
• Experience across multiple entities or locations preferred.
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles including debits/credits, accruals, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts monthly.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit requests.
• Partner with other departments to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Identify inefficiencies and help design process improvements as the company scales.
• Support inventory accounting, including COGS, inventory reconciliations, and physical counts.
