Job summary

Kommissary is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to support our growing multi-location operation. You will oversee payroll, HR operations, employee relations, and the employee lifecycle.

This role is not simply administrative; you will work with leadership to build stronger People practices, create structured processes, and drive consistency across locations.

Strong preference for bilingual English/Spanish and 3–5 years HR experience; exemption full-time role in New York.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience required.
• Experience supporting employees through the full employment lifecycle.
• Experience supporting a multi-location workforce is strongly preferred.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll and day-to-day HR administration across multiple locations.
• Recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leaves, promotions, and offboarding support.
• Coach managers through performance, attendance, and employee relations.
• Support I-9 compliance and documentation; monitor reverifications.
• Identify process improvements; create HR checklists and SOPs.
• Partner with Finance and leadership to improve payroll controls.
