Job summary

Central Dermatology Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team for a brand new Fuquay-Varina location, with training at Raleigh and Cary sites until the Fuquay site opens in Fall 2023. The role requires assisting providers, preparing rooms, obtaining medical histories, and acting as a scribe.

Candidates should have CMA experience and EHR proficiency, and be willing to work at multiple locations across NC.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records required.
• Ability to work well with physicians and extenders and anticipate needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized with keen attention to detail.
• Empathetic to patients' needs and concerns.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Must have own transportation and be willing to work at all locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in examination, treatment and documentation of patient care.
• Prepare examination rooms.
• Obtain thorough medical histories and medication lists.
• Act as a scribe documenting history, medications, findings and plans.
• Obtain proper informed consents for in-office procedures.
• Assist with examinations, biopsies, suture removals and patch testing.
• Perform phlebotomy as directed.
• Complete pathology and laboratory requisitions.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and expectations.
• Answer inquiries from patients and families; providers concerning treatment, labs, surgery or related concerns.
• Respond to urgent and emergency situations as needed.
