Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, ASD, Psychology, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • CDE Special Education Generalist Licensure (5-21).
  • Strong knowledge of ASD, evidence-based instructional strategies (including ABA), and behavior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Individualized IEPs addressing academic, social, and emotional goals.
  • Develop adaptive curriculum and materials using evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize ABA and behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors.
  • Foster safe, inclusive classroom environment encouraging social/emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families; attend regular meetings.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents and leadership.
  • Provide targeted one-on-one or small group support in core subjects.
  • Engage families and coordinate at-home strategies for learning.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current in autism education.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Psychology, or related field
Master’s degree preferred
CDE Special Education Generalist Licensure (5-21)
