Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patient care across multiple Illinois facilities, including Condell Medical Center, Good Shepherd Hospital, Illinois Masonic, and Lutheran General. You will assess patients, operate ventilators, administer therapies, and collaborate with physicians and care teams.

Ideal candidates hold an RCP license or NBRC credential, BLS certification, and an associate degree in respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• Active RCP license in the state of practice or NBRC credentials as required by NBRC.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Experience in multiple care settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Uses respiratory therapy processes to assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, and blood gas analysis.
• Operates ventilators and assists physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
• Provides prescribed therapies and medications per orders and protocols.
• Maintains equipment and troubleshoots issues to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
• Educates patients and families on therapy purpose, technique, and disease management.
