Job summary

C. Herman Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support ground-up, multi-family projects in the Charleston area. You will assist the Lead Superintendent, supervise subcontractors, and monitor safety and schedule adherence on site.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in similar roles, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while upholding high safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ground-up, multi-family project experience.
• Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in reading plans and managing documents.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the superintendent with on-site management from inception to closeout.
• Supervise subcontractors, ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain schedule sequencing and monitor plan progress daily.
• Coordinate with vendors, inspectors and internal teams to meet milestones.
