Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Corporate Accountant to prepare, review, and reconcile financial information for multiple entities. You will adjust entries to the general ledger and assist with consolidated statements and annual audits.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, 3 years of accounting experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel/Word and attention to detail are essential, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
• 3 years in accounting experience.
• 6 months in multi-entity organizational structure (Preferred).
• Knowledge of advanced bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to use email and internet.

Responsibilities

• Reviews financial statements and prepares adjusting journal entries for each business unit.
• Assists management with monthly results and analyzes actual vs. budget variances.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and prepares adjustments and schedules.
• Prepares work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Performs complex, multi-entity accounting data research and reconciliation.
• Maintains corporate general ledger and supports consolidated statements.
