Job summary

Withum is seeking an Audit Senior for the Tysons Corner, VA or Columbia, MD area. You will lead audit engagements from planning to completion, supervise staff, and build strong client relationships.

You will work with CPAs and industry leaders in an integrated team, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with US GAAP across complex engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA or CPA eligible.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience with leading multiple engagements.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and strong auditing skills.
• Excellent client service and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills, with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement planning and execution for audit, review or compilation engagements.

Job Description

Audit Senior – Multi Employer Benefit Audit Senior. This role is based out of Tyson's Corner, VA or Columbia, MD; you will work with an integrated team of CPAs and industry leaders. You will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, including supervision and mentoring of staff and building/maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promote open communication to the engagement manager and partner
• Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolution and making recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
• Reviewing all schedule and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of the engagements in this sector
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skill

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $82,500 - $95,000 for Columbia, MD. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
