Job summary

Elyria Foundry|Hodge Foundry is seeking a 2nd shift Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician in Elyria, OH. The role focuses on electrical wiring, mechanical repairs, diagnosis, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant operations.

You will work with the manufacturing team, troubleshoot systems, perform routine PM tasks, and contribute to downtime reduction. A high school diploma or GED is required; journeyman preferred; pay is negotiated based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; journeyman certification preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing or heavy manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to operate machines and perform repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical equipment following code requirements.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems for hazards and perform adjustments as needed.
• Test circuits and equipment to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot mechanical operation and ensure safety systems are in place.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pollution control devices and other tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet production goals.

Position: 2nd shift Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician (1:30pm start)

Pay is negotiable based on experience: $30 - $40+/hr

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble, Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical related equipment and fixtures in accordance with code compliance using hand and power tools
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects for adjustment and repair.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Troubleshoot for proper mechanical operation of equipment and ensure safety systems, guarding, handrails, etc. are in place and functional
• Preventative maintenance on all pollution control devices as well as additional tasks as needed
• Maintain all pollution control devices in accordance to manufactures specifications
• Downtime prevention for all equipment
• Communicate across various levels of the organization to achieve departmental goals.
• Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure production conformity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Industrial manufacturing knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses and repair/maintenance.
• Industrial manufacturing Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved to make equipment repairs including the ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials.
• The ability to see details at close and distant range with depth perception and the ability to see colors.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
• Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt.
