Elyria Foundry|Hodge Foundry is seeking a General Foundry Labor for the 4pm shift. You will read orders, operate heavy machinery, and produce molds and cores for sand casting. The role involves manual labor in hot and cold conditions and requires lifting up to 50 lbs. Commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. Position: General Foundry Labor 2nd - starting at 4pm ($18/hr)

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read work orders to complete production processes
• Operate heavy machinery
• Make molds and/or core for the sand-casting process
• Using hand tools, some vibrating tools
• May use forklift, remote crane, and other machines and equipment
• Physical / Dirty Production Labor
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently
• Working and walking in and around in black sand used in the sand-casting process
• HOT and COLD work environment - based on season
• Must work well individually and with a team to complete the product
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physical, and heavy industrial environment
• Time management through performing multiple operations simultaneously
• Ability to follow work instructions and desire to learn

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials during your shift.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable wearing FULL RESPIRATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT (a full hood may be required)
• Must be willing to shave beard to wear respirator as needed based on department
• Standing and bending for long periods of time.
• Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures. (extreme hot and cold)
