Job summary

Elyria Foundry|Hodge Foundry is seeking a 2nd shift Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate will install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, diagnose issues with test equipment, and ensure safety features and pollution control devices comply with specifications.

The role requires industrial maintenance knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and a high school diploma or GED. Journeyman certification and OSHA ARC Flash training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance knowledge of machines and tools used for repair/maintenance.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used to repair equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical equipment per code.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems for hazards and defects; identify and fix issues.
• Test circuits and wiring with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes for safety and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot mechanical operation and ensure safety systems are in place.

Job description

Position: 2nd shift Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician (1:30pm start)

Pay is negotiable based on experience: $30 - $40+/hr

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble, Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical related equipment and fixtures in accordance with code compliance using hand and power tools
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects for adjustment and repair.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Troubleshoot for proper mechanical operation of equipment and ensure safety systems, guarding, handrails, etc. are in place and functional
• Preventative maintenance on all pollution control devices as well as additional tasks as needed
• Maintain all pollution control devices in accordance to manufacturers specifications
• Downtime prevention for all equipment
• Communicate across various levels of the organization to achieve departmental goals.
• Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure production conformity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Industrial manufacturing knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses and repair/maintenance.
• Industrial manufacturing Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved to make equipment repairs including the ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
• Mechanical aptitude

• Journeymen Certificate or equivalent preferred

• Heavy manufacturing experience preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials.
• The ability to see details at close and distant range with depth perception and the ability to see colors.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
• Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
