Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for a permanent on-site position in Gary, IN. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical repairs of tubing mill equipment on the 3rd shift (9:00pm-5:00am).

You will troubleshoot PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulic systems, and install/maintain motors, air compressors, fans, and pumps. CMMS will be used for work orders and parts management, with additional general maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulics.
• Install and repair motors, air compressors, pumps.
• Read sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
• Maintain safety practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs for tubing mill equipment.

$30 - 40 per hour plus shift differential

Job Description

As an Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing all mechanical and electrical repairs on tubing mill equipment. This role requires responding promptly to repairs and breakdowns, troubleshooting PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulic systems. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical motors, air compressors, fans, and pumps, as well as fabricate, assemble, and test various parts. Additional duties may include general building maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs for tubing mill equipment.
• Respond to equipment repairs and breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, sensors, relays, and hydraulic systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical motors, air compressors, fans, and pumps.
• Fabricate, assemble, and test parts such as pumps, valves, heaters, compressors, and fire equipment.
• Utilize CMMS for work orders and ordering parts.
• Complete additional tasks including painting, plumbing, and general maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Expertise in PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, and repair.
• Proficiency in hydraulic systems and pump maintenance.
• Ability to perform welding, including MIG welding.
• Familiarity with cranes and plumbing maintenance.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, and pressure systems.
• Understanding of occupational hazards and safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
• Experience in maintaining records related to materials, equipment, and repairs.
• Capability to train and guide other maintenance mechanics.
• Competence in determining work priorities and assigning tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Gary, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
