Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of industrial electrical systems through accurate interpretation of electrical schematics and blueprints, and by performing both preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical components and control panels.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical components, control panels, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Work with industrial electrical systems, including control and electrical panels, conduit, and associated hardware.
  • Use electrical troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Apply hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical aptitude when working on integrated systems and machinery.
  • Assist with minor PLC-related tasks, such as basic adjustments or troubleshooting under guidance, when needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on live circuits, high-voltage equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to support equipment reliability and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work, support continuous operation, and respond to breakdowns promptly.
Essential Skills
  • Strong experience with industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting for complex industrial equipment and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience working in control and electrical panels, including wiring, terminations, and component replacement.
  • Experience installing and working with conduit and industrial electrical infrastructure.
  • Capability to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical components and systems.
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical aptitude for working with integrated electromechanical equipment.
  • Commitment to following electrical safety standards and procedures in an industrial setting.

  • Minor PLC knowledge, including basic understanding of programmable logic controllers and their role in industrial automation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility where conditions can be hot and dusty, especially during peak production periods. Work is performed on first shift, typically from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with flexibility to work additional hours or overtime when needed to support operations. The environment involves regular interaction with industrial machinery, electrical panels, and mechanical systems, requiring appropriate safety gear and practical work attire suitable for an active, hands-on industrial setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
