Job summary

The J. M. Smucker Co. in Decatur, AL seeks a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to keep our plant equipment reliable and production running.

You will troubleshoot automated systems, lead contractor crews, and apply preventive and predictive maintenance in a safety‑driven environment; strong communication and data analysis skills needed.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level knowledge regarding electrical and control systems, power transmission systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and multi‑craft maintenance.
• Must be willing to work on shift (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation, fixed days or nights).
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & GMPs.
• Capable of leading and directing a crew of contractors in the execution of a job you have planned or assisted in planning.
• Be an exemplary contributor to team driven projects and be a willing leader on the projects that you are suited to lead.
• A clear and effective communicator in verbal, written and meeting settings.
• Maintain and improve equipment through analysis of data, preventive maintenance procedures, predictive maintenance practices and reliability centered maintenance strategies.
• Having the drive to hold your teammates accountable to the same level of expectation that you hold yourself

• Be an electro‑mechanical technician familiar with the methodologies of reliability centered maintenance and able to take charge of designing, planning, and executing restoration/repair projects
• Be a loyal and reliable team member who consistently finds the good in their team mates and is dedicated to getting the job done, no matter the sacrifice
