Job summary

The University of Minnesota CAREI invites applications for a MTSS Specialist who will support state, regional, and local educational agencies in implementing MTSS with fidelity, focusing on literacy, math, and SEL, and advancing equity.

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in education and MTSS implementation, with strong communication skills and the ability to work across CAREI teams and external partners. Flexible work arrangements may be available.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Education, Psychology, Leadership, Evaluation, or related field.
• Experience with MTSS implementation in state or regional educational agencies.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills across diverse communities.
• Proven experience providing technical assistance to educational agencies.
• Commitment to culturally responsive approaches with equity across project life cycles.
• Experience leading multiple large- and small-scale projects in school settings.
• Ability to drive processes forward and maintain project momentum.
• Experience in field-based research in LEAs and schools using mixed methods.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to state, regional, and local educational agencies in MTSS implementation.
• Develop guidance for districts about best practices in literacy and math instruction based on evidence.
• Support MTSS fidelity checks and deliver coaching on MTSS implementation.
• Design and deliver professional learning for partner needs.
• Develop MTSS deliverables for statewide implementation (assessment, data-based decision making, etc.).
• Prepare reports of research and evaluation results.
• Collaborate with external consultants to review literacy curricula for culturally responsive practices.
• Coordinate project staff and supervise Graduate Research Assistants.
