Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools seeks a dedicated Education Support Professional to join MTSS teams. The role involves supporting students individually and in groups, collecting data, and assisting with targeted interventions under certificated staff supervision.

The ESP will help maintain a positive learning environment, collaborate with teachers and families, and participate in MTSS trainings. Requires state paraeducator cert or equivalent credentials and completion of required trainings.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or valid alternative credentials.
• Meet education credit requirements (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits) or earn a paraeducator certificate.
• Possess one year related work experience and/or experience with students and families.
• Complete required district trainings and background checks as stated.

Responsibilities

• Support MTSS framework by assisting with instruction and interventions for students with varying needs.
• Deliver targeted small group or one-on-one support under supervision of certificated staff.
• Maintain data records, track progress, and input information into district systems.
• Foster a positive, safe learning environment and support parent engagement.
• Attend MTSS meetings and trainings and maintain confidentiality of student information.
